Stars live for billions of years. Throughout their long lifetimes they go through many changes in temperature, size, brightness, and mass. Annie Jump Cannon devised a system of sorting stars based on the strength of their Balmer Lines, which astronomers later realized is related to the star's temperature. Use this Star in a Box simulator from Las Cumbres Observatory to follow all the phases of a star's life.
